Student Ministry(grades 7 - 12)) |
|
|
|

We believe that every student is on a quest. Students today are searching for three things:
- a place to belong
- truth to build a life on
- a model to follow
To help teens find what they are looking for, QUEST Teen Ministry @ FCCC is broken up into three levels.
QUEST - LEVEL 1
|
| GOAL: |
To create a place to belong |
| TIME: |
Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00pm |
| QUOTE: |
"If I were asked to identify the core reason that young people are succumbing to the lure of a godless culture and lashing out with rage, I would say that it is that they feel alone and disconnected." --Josh McDowell |
| OBJECTIVES: |
QUEST is a place to get connected to the Student Ministry, the church, other teens, and God. It is high-energy, including time to be with friends, worship with our teen band, and learn from a Biblical discussion. Through QUEST and its outreach events, we look to our community and our friends and find ways to bring them into the church. Some topics covered include developing a Christian worldview, relationships with friends, parents, family members, and the opposite sex, a general understanding of the Bible and its message, and how to be saved and what it means to be saved. |
SUNDAY MORNING - LEVEL 2
|
| GOAL: |
To teach truth to build a life on |
| TIME: |
Sundays, 9:00 and 10:30 |
| QUOTE: |
"One of the most dangerous tenets of postmodernism is the notion that truth is either non-existent or, if it does exist, is impossible to discern and articulate. The first position makes truth relative, the second makes it irrelevant." --Rick Edwards |
| OBJECTIVES: |
Sunday Morning is focused on teaching the Bible and worshipping. Our teen Bible Study will communicate truth from the Bible and how it affects our worldview and our actions. Some of the content we will include is a more-focused overview of the Bible, especially the Gospels, how to study your Bible, preparing for adulthood, and core Christian concepts. The Worship Service will give teens an opportunity to connect with God through praise, communion, and giving, as well as worship with their families and other adult Christians. |
PROTEEN - LEVEL 3
|
| GOAL: |
To provide a model to follow |
| TIME: |
Varies by group |
| QUOTE: |
"For too long, young people have been told that their greatest problems are drugs, sex, alcohol, etcÂ… These are, in fact, only symptoms of a much greater disease. The disease of youth is [that key relationships] are in disarray" their relationships with God, self, parents, friends, and the world. --Charles Warren |
| OBJECTIVES: |
Students have real questions and need real answers from real people. ProTeen is a small-group ministry that focuses on digging deep into the Word to find those answers. It is not for everyone, only those ready for the meat of Scripture and an accountability-mentoring relationship, which is why we meet in the homes of positive, godly adults. Some characteristics of ProTeen are in-depth study, basic Christian theology, Scripture memory, and leadership training. |
